11 meter is very quiet?

You can still make plenty of contacts being mobile. Ask me how I know(y)

Some of my more memorable contacts were from the mobile. 11m mobile to Luxor Egypt. 11m mobile to mobile with a geologist for DeBeers Diamond company in Botswana Africa. 20m mobile to Rodrigues Island via longpath 15,000 miles early morning. TONS of contacts into Europe from the mobile. The list goes on.

It doesn't take any more time to talk on SSB than it does on AM.
;)
Yeah but my primary use for cb in the work truck is on sites and interacting with other drivers, equipment operators etc. I don’t have much free time to channel surf and get away from work. If I was on the big road the majority of the time that would be a different story.

Dx been working most of the day here. Hope it's making a come back. Re-hooked up my GE Superbase last night and was Impressed with receive and clarity. Too much to play with and not enough time. Almost looking forward to winter especially they are predicting a rather mild one around here anyway.

Made very Brief contact with the Following this evening:
Unit # 17 Jamaica

813(Uncle George) Anchorage, Alaska

Conditions seem to be holding up tonight here and there, some qrm in the background to deal with, hope my Radio Friends are having a good evening and God Bless you all!!

Crazy good conditions around the Houston,Tx area today. In the morning I heard the northeast corner, later in the morning it was the Pacific Northwest.
I just listened until I heard German, Italy, and Ireland. My only contact across water was to 030 Derrick I believe in southwest Ireland. I listened to him for about 30 minutes and finally was able to call for him. I was surprised when he returned to me. I talked with him for a good 10 minutes from the semi while I was waiting to load.

I also made a contact on 26.805 FM to Nova Scotia. Good to hear some good activity out there.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog.
I haven't had a pet in years, but I look forward to getting off the road soon...so hopefully I can get a couple of dogs to keep me company. I had 2 Australian Shepherds at separate times, I really enjoyed those dogs.
