Hey 226, thanks for the contact. I had just gotten home from work and opened up the box that was on my porch. Hooked up the x9 and was going through my mic collection on a lower channel. The 198 that it comes with just doesn't have the punch. It is probably perfect in a noisy truck, and I like the looks of them. Just seems there is always a better choice for me. I ended up with an Astatic 636, which ends up as my choice on most of my radios that don't have the electret option. The x9 easily does between 100 and 150w on voice peaks.Yes Sir, AxlMyk. Sounding good today for sure! Thanks for the qso, brother.
@Shadetree Mechanic - You were sounding choice on that x9. That radio has a great sound. Are you using the stock rci mic?
The noise is going to be high with some blackouts but the solar flux is high so when it's good it'll be good.Did I read a post that said the prediction for DX wasn't suppose to be very good this weekend?
Pfftt. Predictions. We don't need no stinkin predictions. We'll show them predictors.Did I read a post that said the prediction for DX wasn't suppose to be very good this weekend?
Here you go, I just watched it. Her predictions are a pretty good tool in our hobby.
You picked a good time for a road trip!! Conditions are awesome and with that McKinley/203p and antenna, you’re going to make contacts for sure!!!!Thanks I tried to bookmark it, hope it works. I guess this weekend I'll have to put my KL-203P in my car and ready my Stryker SR-10 antenna for a possible road trip next week. Be interesting to see what the McKinley will do with a little help. Almost a 500 mile road trip ought to reap me some contacts if I run 37 & 39 LSB. I know the Texas guys seem to like 37.
