I use / install a 10-Gauge Wire Fuse Holder at the Positive and Negative battery terminals for other than amp power leads. The radio was set with a 2.5-watt carrier, stock mic , #8-gauge wires directly from battery to radio with a fuse between the HOT terminal of the battery and the HOT wire and a 102" steel whip. I always install the fuse at the battery in lieu of inside the vehicles.
Also, I use Anderson connectors in all of my vehicles.I use / install a 10-Gauge Wire Fuse Holder at the Positive and Negative battery terminals for other than amp power leads.
Been a train wreck around here most of the time and can't seem to make a contact. But been busy with fall readiness and doctors & visiting relatives in the hospital. By the end of the month I hope to get some radio room time. But at least it's rolling !Conditions right now are too good. Sounds like a train wreck, which should be good later in the evening. It tends to ease up in the early evenings and the good qsos are usually plentiful.
Looks like I'll have to try the Lincoln II+ to get into that one because my Cobra 2000 with the extra channels doesn't have FM. Thanks for the Tip !26.805 is a FM call frequency. One that I've used before and have had lots of contacts on FM.
I'll give it a try on 38LSBJust fired up the Ranger and conditions are starting to move in up here in Central PA,I'll be on 37 and 38 LSB listening until at least 11am and then after 2pm as usual.......
