11 meter is very quiet?

Yes you did Recon!

I was on my Anytone AT-6666 at first. Then had switched over to the Uniden Washington when you told me I should to turn my mic gain down...LOL.

You were throwing a strong signal and great modulation from Upstate NY down here to Central NC. (y)

Recon and I QSY'd to 27.395 LSB and had a great conversation.

Yeah, how about that! That was a great coincidence because I had the scan mode activated for lower side band and there you were.

Just made a crystal clear contact with 442 West Virginia on 21 AM @ 3:30 PM

I drove back home from Miami today. The magnetic mount on the roof with my Cherokee AH100 SSB walkie-talkie picked up a ton of activity. My situation was the opposite of yours. I could hear lots of stations, but only one or two got back to me. I heard 363 in Western PA and a West Va. station come back to me, but that was it. Once home, I turned on the base and it was the same thing. Skip is hopping but my luck getting back to folks was minimal. 69 in Pensacola, FL and I chatted briefly, but that was about it.

On a side note, I'm hearing the whole eastern half of the country but can't talk to any of them. o_O
