11 meter is very quiet?

Yes. And not just 11 meters, but also 10, 12 and 15 meters will become much quieter too.
That said, it's pretty rare even in the bottom of the sun cycle to go more than a few weeks without some kind of DX opening. It might just be short E-skip, but that's a lot better than nothing at all! And here on the far west coast of North America some of the Aussie's, Kiwis, and Hawaiians seem to make it through even when nobody else does due to a little understood mode of propagation known as "TEP". Short for Trans-Equitorial Propagation.

The plus side of course is that in five years from now, there will be lots and lots and lots of great deals on used CB's, export radios, and 10 meter ham gear, as the novelty of 400 channels of hiss every day wears off and people start selling off radios.
Yes, there are periods of propagation, but nothing like it is now.
And Yep, lots of stuff will get shelved or sold.
During that same time period back then I bought a Radio shack TRC 455 base station, Cross bow antenna cable, pushup pole, 2 mobile radios and antennas for $100 bill.
Guy was very disappointed that he had bought all of this and could no longer use it because DX killed anything more the couple miles away from his home and sold it all to me.
He had bought it all during low solar activity.

Well I'm currently on 37 LSB, today was a pretty good day for contacts:
495 St.Johns, Canada
707 London, England
607 Louisiana
226 Texas(Brother Dxer WDX)
828 Texas( Eldorado828 WDX)- I heard you out there but wasn't able to make contact ,
I tried 16 LSB alot throughout the day and didn't make any contact on the Frequency,if anything I noticed that there is more hash on that channel then any other on the regular 40 band..................

Who Nose, LoL
Well the radio has been running all day and must have warmed up because the Freq. jumped up to 27.3753 so a little adjust took care of it. But the case cover has no ventilation like a Cobra 2000 should. Somebody said they must have used a case cover from a Cobra 1000. The radio works good so I want to make my own ventilation before it burns up. In the wood cover and metal cover underneath. Anybody have good pictures and dimensions to guild me thru the process so I can make it as original as possible ? Thanks in advance ! Mike

Good day, I have an Icom IC910H radio. I want to program a memory with split frequency tone on TX only and NO tone on RX,. Is this possible to do from the face of the radio? I don't have the interface to connect to a computer.

@Deon very unlikely to get a response here. You are better off starting a thread on the topic.
