11m to 15m mod

Anyone convert a 10-11 meter radio to a 15 meter rig? I've seen the mods for 40 and 80, but not 15. Seems like 15m should be way easier since it's close in frequency to 11m.

I have seen mods that make the display show it is on 40 or 80m but have never actually seen them produce any power on those bands. Everything is tuned for 24-32MHz and I cannot imagine them working at 3.5 or 7 MHz without completely retuning it so it loses the original band coverage.

I was thinking 15m would be close enough that maybe just swapping the ref xtal and retune it? I wonder if the vco would even lock in? I dont know off hand the mhz spread but about a 2mhz seems to be the spread off hand of a 8719 pll board. So swap the xtal, tie the clarifier, add a high low switch and have a 17m mobile.

Why is the 10k question. If it's just somethimg.to try then have at it but if its for a daily driver don't waste your time.
