This is a old radio, receives good, but when I key up only the TX letters show on the display and there's no draw of amp's off the power supply. Could it possibly be the D104 mic or just the radio.

I am having this same problem. TX indicates but no RF out. Changed the mic and it started working, then it quit. Now it's intermitant. Pushing the TX button produces no RF either. Then it starts working again. This one is making me nuts. :roll:

TX prob

Check Q136 and Q125.

Q136 is TX control and Q125 is the TX Regulator Switch.

Q136 RX Voltages :
Emitter = 0v
Collector = 8v
Base = 7.9v
Q136 TX Voltages :
Emitter = 0v
Collector = 0v
Base = 0.7v

Q125 RX Voltages:
Emitter = 7.4v
Collector = 0v
Base = 8.0v
Q125 TX Voltages:
Emitter = 7.3v
Collector = 7.8v
Base = 8.0v

Also you should check the Final Bias.
It will tell you if you have a problem in the amp section.
See here for Alignment / test procedures.
