2510 woes

gotta 2510 a few weeks ago.im only the 3rd owner of it
1st was a licenced and was only used as a ham radio
2nd was a local around here only thing he did was 11m mod
and unlock the rit.
3rd owner is me
my problem is the volume keeps cutting out on me.i was
told about this upon buying it.was hoping something simple
like loose wire,bad speadker,ect.no such luck.when ya unkey
it takes 1-2 seconds to have recieve again.also when people
are talking it cuts out.any ideas

could be dirty switch contacts.

try some contact cleaner on the volume pot, and on the switch in the mic.
heck, while you're at it; clean all the pots!

ive never used it, but i hear Rosonol lighter fluid works good for this.
i would go with real electronic contact cleaner, but to each his own.

2510 audio Problem.

Try this,

Replace C95 and C98 - Both are 10v capacitors and should be replaced with 16v or 25v capacitors. [Keep the Microfarads the same as they are. - 470us and 47uf]

the 2 caps are in the audio circuit, and usually leak or short internally, causing all kinds of audio problems.

If ya cant get it sorted out... this guy is Awesome with these radios, Ive had him do all three of mine, chipswitch one of em.
