2547 dual final conversion

You will be spending alot of money for 10 more watts. The only time I would consider such a mod is if you blew out the driver and final and it had to be fixed anyway.

i have found this mod on the net before, so i know its out there.
try searching for 959 dual final mod, or something like that since they are the same radio.

WELL WTF ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT
in there it says
(Note: the dual final mod is not recommended for the 2547 do to power supply limitations i have more research to do in this area.)

OK so do i do it and hope to hell the powersupply stays together. OR my other option would be to use the DC supply i have and run it DC which i would gather would work.

That warning is there for a reason. Back to my first post, no one that you talk to will hear those extra watts driving your amplifier so why do it.

The power supplies in the export radios have always been subject to catastrophic failure.

A lot of people here set up their radios to use a purposeful EXTERNAL power supply. An Astron RS35M as a minimum. No more power supply worries! Just bypass the internal switching supply, or remove it all together!

Also, this thread belongs in the EXPORT section.

the duel final converson wont work thats listed on the cb tricks page, my buddy tried it and gained a whopping 1 watt. if you want to add a little more power buy a stinger board.

Roger that Carl. yeah I was thinking about that but the only thing that steered me away from something like an Rm 60 stinger was the fact that it didnt specify anywhere whether it would work for side band and thats a big thing for me and besides anything over 35 watts is really pushing the drive for my 2 12jb6's. especially with my friend having jacked the hell out of the plate for it already. But dont worry hes a qualified tech. Anyone who can build there own Radio And amp is qualified enough for me and everyone i know says he does amazing work. And hes also in the process of building his own audio amp. but not to get too off topic here. YEah so i dont wanna over drive it.
