Noise toys don't sound or work the same in SSB mode. In fact, since not everybody is on freq they usually sound like $#!+. Noise toys are for AM because they sound like they should. Of course, those of us who have been using SSB for years already went through all of that and know this already.

Very true but hell its there and its not going away. Some people are just into that type of stuff. I don't take 38 LSB seriously at all, hence the reason for this post about "Were is all the Retro noise toys at for 38 LSB". It's all in good fun.

I would rather listen to a happy person and their noise toy on SSB , than some condescending know it all on any band . I dont like noise toys either , so i9 dont use them , nor do i whine when someone else does , i simply change the channel .

People who post on a thread and dont offer any good info for the OP are 10x more annoying than a noise toy. This post shouldnt bother you if it aint about you .
If the thread doesnt appeal to someone they should move on . Or make a thread of your own and let other critics annoy you .

and for the OP keep having fun on the radio ,
thats what its there for . I do not like the noise toys but ill fight for your right to use one . Im man enough to not cry, ill just change the channel

same here . 10 minutes of 38 lsb then i just move on up the band where its quieter and more civilized . No need to listen to 38 lsb all day.

LMAO, It's all funny to me some days. If I don't want to hear it I just don't turn the radio on. It makes for great entertainment though. That's why I been in the hobby so long is I just don't take anything on the radio serious.

LMFAO, after the total insanity on 38LSB today I googled "blue waffle" with DX and this thread was like third on the list. I almost fell off my chair reading it. The only one of these I didn't hear today was the orange face antron guy....and I hope I never do. Still managed to eeek out a 9500 mile contact with Tasmania over it all though!

they think the occillator up and down noise is annoying
just think
key the mic and walk away keyed down all day long

That is why I love being portable. In the 75 or so miles I travel around all day the area the DX rolls in from constantly changes so I am never stuck with any agitator for very long. I can't imagine being trapped all day with some of the folks on 38lsb, that seem to be around 24/7!

It's all annoying. Recordings, Uncle Fester, the dipsticks from Phoenix, the Day after Day guy, Blue Awful, noise toys, soapbox rants about "why I should run a roger beep", etc. No wonder I find myself on 10 meters more and more. But wait, I listen to it on 28.425, too! :blink::laugh:

But there have always been agitators on SSB. I remember Teddy Bear in California (don't you want to talk to the Teddy Bear?) in the early 1990s, the nut jobs in Phoenix, and countless other goofballs..
