600 Ohm Ladder Line vs Coax

Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be. Get the wire in the air, run the coax or ladder line, if you want to use a choke or a balun with the coax then do it and talk :)

AGREED 100% You'll work far more stations that way rather than debate this and that to the N'th degree.

How is that?

All of your daily traffic nets and any emergency communications net is going to require you to be able to communicate within your geographic area / state. You can participate in other state/region/area events, but you need to be able to handle business in your own house first.

Well, I took back/returned a couple of items that I didn't need back to HRO, and paid the difference for an Alpha Delta DX-CC 10-80m fan dipole.

Also bought 100 ft of CableXperts mini-8 coax and another 100 ft roll of dacron guy rope.

Tomorrow, I will get the PVC pipe for the top part of the mast.

Should I wind a RF choke at the feedpoint?
Howard @HRO said that it might be the right thing to do.
9 winds of coax on a 8 in form.

I'm getting there...
