me and a few local hams have decided to have an antenna shootout on 6mtrs, each person will build his own antenna then we will meet up in a field and mount them on my flagpole,
i choose to make a sigma style antenna maybe even a collinear version like the phazor if the basic antena turns out ok,
the most difficult part will be getting the basket dimentions correct,
i cant just scale it down because the wavelength/diameter ratio will be different using the same tubes needing shorter than calculated lengths, how much shorter i aint sure yet,
i can find the right tapping point and radiator length from trial and error with the field strength or signal meter,
what i want to know is does anybody have any ideas how i can get the basket dimentions very close close first time or do you think its not that critical :?:
