98 VHP install in 2008 KW

300 watts didn't make a difference for me locally (or seemingly on skip either) between a pair of 1446's and four 2879's doing 200 and 500 watts respectively . i think most folks would expect 1000 watts or more from a 6 pill so a 300 watts difference there will only have a difference on the meter , not the signal ........ going the results i got . what were your actual numbers mack ?

750 with the fuse 1050 without and 300 watts is 300 watts more so don't tell me there is no difference, if that's the case a guy should just skip from a 4 pill to an 8 pill but I'm sure there's someone out there that will say 1800 watts won't do anymore in skip than a 4 pill.
 
You can't simply measure a fuses resistance to current using an ohm meter. This resistance measured by ohm meter does not tell you what the fuse does to limit higher current, ie what the radio demands. You would have to measure the load carrying capability of the fuse in terms of current and voltage reduction. I've seen a glass 50A fuse for a RCI 8-mosfet read continuous on an ohm meter, but put it in line and the radio wouldn't even turn on. Voltage was all there when measured with a volt meter, but when put under load, current was insufficient to provide even VCC to the microprocessor.

You're correct, I've seen a .9 volt drop across a fuse and that is a restriction and under load even higher.
