bad speaker?
check resistance of volume and mic gain pots, compare values to schematic.
is it low in all modes, am/fm/ssb, then suspect audio amplifier circut, see block diagram on cbtricks.com
I had a similar issue and found the answer in the troubles and their cures at CDtricks . I was fairly easy in my case. i replaced D23 and D24. and that was no longer an issue. And also a question. Does turning the noise blocker on or off make any difference ?
no diff. just low volume. happens in all modes. It looks like d23 & d24 are the troubles. The radio is ok cept for that. Only gave $25 for it like it is, Figured I can't go wrong. Waiting on parts now.
