A decline in radio quality?

I know what you mean.

Yeah, I've noticed in the relatively short time I've been usin' the radio (5 yrs or so) the people on there, language, topics, etc have been gradually declining.

I use the thing for info and entertainment. I can't find most of those crude/clueless idiots on there entertaining or informative.

What ticks me off most of all is when I think "hey, they still let these idiots VOTE"... Scary stuff... Hopefully someday they'll clean the slime out of the gene pool...

Here in Nebraska one argument led to a death of by-stander who got ran over by an

angry driver and wasn't paying attention. Plus my fellow classmates act like little kids on the radio

while they drive around and that is why I got my ham license.

There is someone in or around southside VA with a noise toy that sounds sort of like a buzzer. It lasts for about 20 seconds and changes pitch 3 or 4 times during that period. He is not particluar to 1 channel. He goes all over the place. I would guess he is pushing some watts since I hear it everywhere within 60 miles of here.

Really is nerve-racking

The area of Minnesota that I'm in is pretty bad too. The problem here is all the high-school kids that get mommy and daddy to put a cb in the car that they bought for them. Most of these kids are serious walking attitudes, and know nothing about courtesy. All they want to do is start fights and chase people down. A few years back one of these chases led to someone's death. And it was someone that had nothing to do with the chase. I don't think that any of them know how to put a sentence together without swearing either. This is why I moved on to bigger and better.

Anyway, 73 all!

Festor, I think most high schoolers are immature when it comes to the radio. Most think they own 19, and when t.drivers talk on it. The kids start to yell at them, and that really bothers me enough for me to turn off my radio. They need to be taught a lesson but it wouldn't help. I admit I am in school but I use my radio for talking, not causing problems.

just the other day i got cursed out by a high school student playin on daddys galaxy, his father is a real clean radio player, dont know where he was at the time,im eighteen now and i started when i was fifteen, and i worked hard to get my equipment that i wanted. i will admit there were sometimes i would go down on ch 3 (anything goes freq)and hold my own pretty good, but that got old and i started to make peace with people because there wasnt any since in acting like i had none.there is good conversation all over the band here in columbus ohio, but you do have those radio rambos that think they are the baddest and untouchable.ive noticed when teens get on a radio and try to rambo it is because they are depressed about problems at home, they are trying to fill a void of being angry at a person or problem they a havig with (school, parents, drugs, peer presure)and they take it out on someone on radio because they think they cant be touced, they get behind that mic and they think daddy will save me,and the sad thing is there are some grown ups out here that are even worse.been there, heard it,done it,dont want the t-shirt,and i can still respect my fellow radio players and t-drivers as long as i am respected the same, learn a lot more than people really think a person could in three years about radio and people how to deal with people, and still finised high school and thats the most important thing.

thats my opinion and stickin to it.mac292oh10

We have our share of knuckleheads out west. In the S.F. bay area the truckers run on ch.17 and we have our local c.b. rambo's that like to sit on their base stations and "squash" everyone that tries to talk on" their channel." There was a couple of them the other night up to their usual antics.

They were being their arrogant selves and then they were talking to each other about getting their ham license. they need to read up on courtesy. It is just another indicator of how morally bankrupt our society is. What amazes me is that they have nothing better to do but sit up at 3a.m. ant tell truck drivers what a bunch of losers they are.

It would be nice to purchase some type of equipment to track the signal to their house, get their name and broadcast their personal information everytime they decide to be that way.

I guess we're pretty lucky where I live. We get the occasional idiot that makes using the radio bad for a few months but they generally move on to something else after having their coax cut a few times or their pushup pole dragged through town.

I used to hunt down the idiots to beat the crap out of them but as I got older and hopefully wiser I've switched tactics and it seems to have worked. Instead of hunting them down with the intent of physical harm, now we use them for our rabbit hunts. Generally when one of these idiots sees 10 or 15 vehicles with antennas pulling up to where they are, they go back quiet. I guess the thought of physical harm is just as effective as the threat when they realise how easy it is to hunt their butts down. Later
