At last count there were two extra class members on here. Come on and get that EXTRA Class!

Don't forget how easily you can fit 2 meter and 70cm antennas into that attic. Easy to make invisible outdoors, too, if necessary.

You are right. The only power gain is when you go from technician to general. I have not run any power except from what comes out of my radios. 100 watts works good enough.I haven't checked in a long time, but, I don't remember gaining any power increases when I became an Amateur Extra.
The jump from General to Exrta is a small upgrade compaired to Tech to General. It's worth it but give yourself time to learn.
