NFL Football is back!! :LOL::LOL::LOL:

I wanted to share with everyone the hunter's feast BBQ that I did today and had for lunch in between football games. Bacon wrapped Dove breasts, bacon wrapped whole Chukar stuffed with creamed cheese and wild Boar sausage, and a couple of Jalapeno Cheddar wild Boar sausages.

Local radio operator that I talk to got a blacktail buck this morning at Calero Reservoir in CA. Used up one of his two deer tags that he has for this season. Meat is already at the butcher's shop. Dressed yield/weight is 85 lbs.

Did he cut the backstraps out before taking to the butcher? Those are very good on the grill.

I think moleculo is teasing everyone

I think moleculo is teasing everyone, that has to be the same pic from his hunter's feast or whatever post, still looks good

He had the butcher do that - I guess. The butcher is also supposed to make a bunch of sausage with the meat that isn't prime for roasting or stewing. He says the butcher makes a sausage that tastes just like linguica. I'm gonna see if I can buy a bit of that sausage from him.

This one has always puzzled me,i know you guys in the states never fully grasped the english language, but why call a game where you predominatly throw the ball football, and a game where you predominantly kick the ball soccer?

Despite the fact the rest of the planet calls soccer football,

what really kills me even more is you have a football world series and a baseball world series but the only country that competes is America, hmmm,is that not a tad conceited?

Answers on a postcard please to the world republic of scotland,;):D:D

It wasn't always legal to throw the ball in football, football world series? the super bowl. Baseball world series, well just look at how many different countries have players in Major League Baseball. Do a google search and you can find the reason for the US calling soccer soccer, instead of football like the rest of the world. I don't think it being conceited is the problem, its the advertising money the TV and radio stations get, the world series sounds better than last game of the year now, doesn't it?:D

lol,

let me give you my take on things,

us brits invent football, you guys steal it and call it MAJOR league soccer. You want to check out the European champions league, now that really is MAJOR League football.

we invent rugby, you guys steal it,change a few rules, paint lines on the pitch and call it football, then throw in a couple of tarts to cheerlead because the crowds unlike here must lack motivation for it,which i understand because rugby is boring too.

we then invent cricket, you steal that, change the shape of the pitch and the bat and call it baseball.

i'm just wondering why you guys bothered fighting a war of independence, although in fairness i can understand why you would want to boot the english out, every country they've ever been in felt or feels the same way,not least of all my very own world republic of scotland.

pmsl.:D:D:D

We're sorry Jazzsinger, I think you missed the fact that we bastardized the game of Cricket also but look at this way we just made all these plagiarized sports look and sound more manly.;)

Seriously?

Football and Rugby are almost nothing alike. Cricket is even less similar to baseball.

But this thread was about hunting and eating...tell me how many places where you're at where the average person can still do that...

You damn sure can't do it in Scotland.

we've got mcdonalds where the burgers are living, kfc where the chicken is so fresh it winks at you,and our national pastime is hunting and munching wild haggis and englishmen.

Speaking as someone with some Scottish roots, I still find it hard that someone would concoct a dish made up primarily of all the parts of the sheep that no one would want to eat. Thrifty - you say? Then, mix with that mornings left over oats and then bury it for a time. Seems like it should have been the soccer ball; certainly not something relished to eat. Oh that's right; they remember where they've buried it - so that they can dig it up and use it as an excuse to wash it down with the finest single-malt Scotch whiskey available - while singing songs/reciting poems lamenting Robert Burns and wearing skirts and a purse...

Of course - this was all meant in jest...
