a WARNING from MPAA

The Expendables ?
maybe but NOT on this DESKTOP.
this is a used desktop from another friend who gave it to me (he indeed has a large collection of p2p files) i found out a file was dedicated to sharing recorded TV shows and much more. thats probably how i got slapped by the ISP.
yes most of my traffic is Encrypted and i have a dedicated port to n00bs who want to try to finger fuck my port and try to get info.
as for wiping the hd i did not./
just removed the recorded shows and crap that was being ALLOWED to be shared via the internet. i only used UTorrent and BTjunkie but not anymore. i just payed for a netflix thing.
no one will show up in men n black suits....:pop:
(wouldn't be the first time)
im not too worried. i am how ever disappointed after 9 years of DL now i get a warning, i have had the same ISP for over 14 years:unsure:
i also have to add a friend of mine downloads 10x the amount i did including video games and has never had a problem.
@Jazzsinger yes i have done that in the past. not a good idea that is major trouble

also i do keep my WiFi routed unlocked for any person to use my net.... so if someone else is to be p2p thats not on me im not the internet police.

^So you're nuts is what you're saying?

Just recently a guy had his door kicked in and was arrested by the FBI because someone else outside of his house was using his open network to download child porn.

Of course he was *eventually* freed, but do you really want to go through that kind of BS just because you can't be bothered to come up with a pass code? Once you're in the legal system you really never know what could happen.. while the guy I just spoke of was freed, it's very possible that another person could be convicted..

And yes.. sickos like that are out there constantly hunting for people dumb enough to leave their network open.

Don't be an ID10T... SECURE that shit!!!!!!!!!

true. thanks for the worst case scenarios. i just read up on my 300$ router and have added a pass code. ya know that is really disgusting that people look at children that way:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown: fucking sickos

I absolutely agree.. the problem is that they are out there, like it or not, so one should always be sure they have their networks secure. And you're right, it is a worst-case scenario, but it has happened before and I'd hate to see it happen to anyone else.

Holy Cow! Running your wireless network wide open?!?! Man, you are just asking for trouble.

couldn't agree more, anyone could get you in the shit, and not just for dl'ing something as trivial as a copied movie/cd. not to mention everyone using your router slows your speed down.

Who/what is "Road Runner Customer Care"?? Is that your ISP? Whomever it is, they are doing what the worst viruses out there do ... they are now have administrative rights on your computer and are the new owner. I would be very upset about that!

Time Warner my ISP bought out "Adelphia". years ago it sucked major balls + they lie about what your paying for and its a long bullshit story on how there screwing there customers on bandwidth. anyways no they DONOT have admin rights to my PC. all they did from there end was tunnel my IP to there website saying unless i agree to that i will not download / upload illegal stuff that i cant use there internet.
i used to run a hardwire firewall between my router and network but i didnt have time to keep up with it so i turned it off.
the ISP has legal right to keylog every thing that is typed and copy all pages i may visit or anyone else who is attached to my router.
this reminds me of telephones and cellphones everything is recorded how sad is that......the U.S Government out to get its own people? .....yes maybe the people who are sicko's pedo's terrorist etc etc....i AM none of those.
i think its time to drop my T3 and get with Verizon FIOS
