I know most of the guys on the east coast have worked Africa with good results, but for me out here on the West coast it's more challenging. So this is what I've got for the good old 11 meter band.

I added 4 more new one's last year:
Sao Tome
Botswana
Swaziland
Mozambique

Yes DXman Africa is not to hard from Florida.

On the other hand you have knocked it out of the park with all your rare Pacific island DX contacts and Asian contacts.(y)

Hard to get them from the East coast:(

This last weekend conditions were up/down on 11m.
Very low noise level, seemed like no conditions but all sudden a large signal would come through.
Got in to Africa couple times usually 10am to 11am to Ohio:
39AT - seem to always hear
44BRC - seem to always hear
88MM - new one for me
76LR - seem to always hear
34RC - seem to always hear

Been listening for 216SD on 650 have not heard anything.

That new one probarbly isnt 88mm but 89mm101 ?

85AT046 has been very active lately..and 257/14cdr10 is a nice one as well...but difficult as he isnt really calling CQ but response to calls...mostly French.

Good hunting !
Your right it was 89mm101, actually did same mistake when spotting him on dx27. oldtimers problem:)
Heard other divisions calling for 85at but could not hear any reply's.
Got to 216sd/dx Sunday which I've been listening for for past couple weeks also mostly French. 4/3 to Ohio.

The same could be said about some HAM activations ?

Thats the beauty of internet these days...
proof is what people want...

To give a example a couple small islands I did last year..

http://www.delta-xray.net/redir.php?URL=19dx_fr001_1.html
http://www.delta-xray.net/redir.php?URL=19dx_gr003_1.html

with real time Gps tracker on...heck i asked the guys on cluster if they wanted me to peddle a figure 0 or 8 so they could see it was me etc.

And if people are fake...others will find out :
please do watch !

The amount of fakes has been reduced thanks to phones/pictures/internet/gps/movies etc.
you can find proof...if you know where to search.

But i certainly agree for a new kid on the block...dont believe everything first hand..
There will always be those trying to trick you....sadly thats not limited to 11 meters.

kind regards,

QRZ and LOTW for instance require matching QSO info with other licensed amateur radio operators world wide. Fakes may be few and far between and are eventually caught. I have no doubts to any of my confirmed DX contacts logged on both QRZ and LOTW.

It seems that 11 meter DX activity, even though in the US like this is illegal, is trying to legitimize itself with reliable DX QSL's by means of video and GPS.

This validates what I said about 11 meters contacts that are hopefully legitimate since it takes that kind of proof to confirm a QSL.

At least this is way for people who DX on 11 meters to be sure they are not wasting their time with fake DX contacts.

Interesting.

Good luck with your DX.
