Anyone use ALE400 on HF, it is on MULTIPSK, a great mode of shall we say locking in to the other station.
I use it on 20 14.094, but can switch to 40 or 80..any club members using it...

I found activity ALE 400 80 meters 3581-82..some ALE activity in the evenings

I found activity on the above modes..go to hamspots, register, and look under digital modes ARQ there will show who is active at that time.

If there was a a listen-before-transmit protocol that was adhered too it may not be a bad idea however most stations simply use the "A" part of ALE without regard to a frequency already being used. If the system could/would listen first and inhibit the TX function if it encounters a busy frequency it would not be bad however just like Winlink that seldom ever happens. :crying:
 
Doesn't the MARS-ALE application work this mode? I'll have to take a look. CK, most of the ALE applications and Winlink apps have the ability to detect a frequency in use and won't auto TX in that case. Of course if the operator overrides the warning from the software...
