AM radios with cb 11 meter reception?

now that's an idea too. just sad that someone could run a business like that though
There's always two sides to every coin. You generally don't get a warranty on an amplifier which is easy to destroy by making a simple mistake. Some folks think they should be able to blow up their amplifier and get it replaced or have it repaired under warranty even when it was their fault for the destruction.

this is true too, I guess it is what it is just as long as it gets fixed.

:LOL: Not bad for a tube transmitter that was over 30 years old at the time and full of audio transformers. We had a couple older ones that were used as backups but they did run a little higher distortion typically 1-1.5% as a norm. Gates and Harris built some good stuff in the day. Many of those old BC-1 series transmitters are on the ham bands now doing AM service.
