i just made a vertical dipole...did the math for 20m an cut the wire I was gonna use for that band...trim a little off each end to get it to 1.1-1 thru the whole 20m band...NO balun and NO tuner

Yep, that will work on 20, but you will wish you had a balun when you go multiband.

I agree that it will work only for 20, hence the reason why it was made just for 20. But I have a 10-80m wire antenna fed with twin lead into a tuner for going multi-band works pretty darn good too
