Antenna Improvement

Its a handheld GMRS radio using 462Mhz. Thats all i know. I am sure improving the antenna WILL improve performance. Its a 3 watt transmitter

You have all kinds of options for this radio. If you want a good portable antenna, the best ever made was the AEA HotRod! It was a 1/2 wave end fed antenna. It used a BNC connector.

There are also co-linear mobile and base antennas.

The question now is, what radio do you have and how do you want to operate it? This will determine if you need a PORTABLE antenna, a MOBILE antenna, or a BASE antenna and what type connector/adaptor you need for the top of it.
