I'd say the 102 in SS Whip.
I've used one for yrs and always had good ears.
Tried many others that didn't seem to hear quite as well. It's just my opinion though.
Yes the 102 ss whip has been my experience also, and not as inconvenient as you would think.
I run a 96" Francis fiberglass 90% of the time, if I need shorter I go to my Predator 10k with a 27 inch shaft.
I have done testing at 100 miles base to mobile and there is very little difference between the 96" and the 10K
The reason for my choice of 96" fiberglass over the 102 is that it flexes less at speed on the highway.

Sirio 5000 performer, I have one of those also. Great antenna.
I just ordered a 5.5 ft Francis this morning. Never owned one but from what I hear, they are a great antenna. Walcott had the best buy I could find, even including their shipping.
I like the ss 102 whip, I've had the best luck with them. Right now I've got some little mag mount, it's good enough to find out what lane is open when there's an accident on the highway. Comes in handy on the way to West Virginia and back.

Well, going back through these old threads is new to me. I haven't been a member for too long so, I learn quite a bit reading the old "golden shovel", good stuff. Ya never know what might need re-visiting!
