Any recommended AT-6666 durability mods

And now here in 2024 I would say 80% of all these guys who participated into this subject on the dx forum do t even talk on cb or ham anymore for various reasons and it's about a 50 to 50 chance among the 80% if they still own the same radios or got rid of them

Kinda makes me sad to because I have ordered a brand new at-6666 but it's not the pro but brand new from Anderson radio supply.
Has anything in the at-6666 changed internally or it's functionality since 2019 ?

The original AT-6666 between 2019 and now has not changed (it is now discontinued).
The new 2024 AT-6666 PRO is 100% new inside and its functionality has changed significantly.

I have an older q6 from about 2016 or so and it's still a great radio even without all the goodies of the new one. The only issue it developed is the skippy encoder and if I could find an oem replacement I'd do it. It's currently the radio in my daily driver.

Something to add, ive noticed when my og 6666 is in the house on a power supply the channel skipping with the encoder is not bad at all. Something apparently when in warmer temps makes it a skipper. 73
Mine was my main base before it got dethroned and put into the mobile. It started the skippy symptoms long before it made mobile so I think mine is just worn from all that dx!

Quad 6 is still a very good radio. The Quad 6 was not the only radio that came out that had the skippy encoder...Stryker and President Lincoln versions just to name a couple. There were others too.

A question for the guys with og 6666. When my radio is sitting running listening only, the radio is cool to the touch all over except for the front left side of radio. Is that from a voltage regulator disapating heat? Thx!
