Sorry no sound clip. Very consistent. Pretty much everyday. Sunrise times, lasts around an hour, currently approx. 7:45~9:00 eastern time, or until is covered up by other noises. Right on Ch 14 and best heard on AM. Always faint, never strong enough to put a signal on a meter. Hard to or can't find from either sideband or CW. Spin the dial as quickly as can 40 chs up & down …. not finding anywhere besides Ch 14. Hearing on two different radios and other locals hear it plainly also so not just me.

Sounds like a high pitched vacuum cleaner - solid tone for about 5 seconds, then breaks into what sounds like 4 or 5 morse characters. Always exactly the same. Total ON time is around 10 seconds. Fires like this about once every minute or so. Have tried google search with no luck. Has been around a long time …. several years. I'm on the east coast.

Anybody know what this is?

i have heard this same thing last cycle in different parts of 11M, figured it was some UTE station using some digi mode with a CW identifier.

IMD is most likely correct as 'skip' brings in all sorts of signals. When the cycle is high and conditions are good, one can hear all sorts of UTE signals including OTHR or Over The Horizon Radar. I hear this rapid and loud pulsing on many frequencies. Another is radiosonds or travelling 'pips', these are propagation monitors with a grid of sending and receiving stations around the World. Their use is to measure direction and strength of band conditions. I hear these on most frequencies all day and with good skip conditions they can be heard in SSB or CW mode on and above the CB band.
I use these as indicators of band conditions but though to figure out direction....
