Anybody remember the Tri-kicker and the Ultra-kicker?

I have a neighbor who has a brand new unopened set of the Tri-Kicker.I was going too get her to open the box & let me read the specs on it because the picture above shows a rotor under the antenna but it's just a drawing & not an actual photograph.I always heard it worked like a Super Scanner but not so if it needs a rotor.

If she still has it offer her some cash , I will buy it , I know this is an old post but would like to get the measurements out there for the builders to try .

She is currently in the Hospital but I'll try & remember when she gets out.

Well I now am the Owner of TWO Brand New in the box Tri-Kicker Beam Antennas. There are No Specs listed just assembly instructions. The boxes are rough but they were still sealed & one still is.I just knew there would be antenna specs included but I was WRONG.I am not sure what I will do with them yet but I may keep at least one set & retune them for 10 meters. There is no instructions for doing that but I'm pretty sure it is not brain surgery. There is not any coils or traps that I can see so I don't think it would be really low power. It for sure needs a rotor & the loops in the center are not considered elements so they must be the tuned section? I am still recovering from surgery so I can't even pick the boxes up with the antennas in them so it will be a while before I can mess with them at all.Time will tell so we will see when the doctor says I can lift more than 10lbs.

Hi Guys,

I just came across this board while I was looking for info on the Ultra-Kicker.
I used to run a CB Radio shop in British Columbia and I actually have one of these Ultra-Kicker antennas in my possession!
My current problem is that it was never assembled - quite literally brand-new, but the box it was in got water-damaged in storage and the installation/assembly instructions were destroyed. So I have been looking for anyone who might just have a set of instructions that I could either buy from them, or pay to have them copied.
For anyone who vaguely remembers these, they are a phase-switched antenna with a control box that allows them to be switched through eight different directions without moving the antenna itself. The box also allows the antenna to operate in an Omni-directional mode.

I have installed three of these in the distant past for customers, and they are quite amazing. They fully live up to the advertising hype, but they are 'beasts' to assemble. Extremely large overall, unwieldy to get up to the top of a tower, and the wiring from the relays to the control box is quite complex.
Also, with the wind loading, you do not want to install these on anything less than a well-guyed tower. No mast-mounting here, that is for sure.
Anyway, if anyone knows where I can get a set of assembly instructions, I would certainly appreciate it. The ones I installed were in the late 70's and early 80's, so my memory is not much help from that long ago.

Hello. I know this post has be written quite some time ago, but I am purchasing a Tri Kicker (NOS) in a couple weeks to add to my collection of vintage radio gear. Anyway it does not come with the manual or bag of hardware. Would your neighbor happen to still have this antenna or possibly have the manual and be able to provide me a copy?..thanks

Hello #9: that would be a good deal if you could post some pictures of that antenna install.

I may actually have these assembly instructions in my storage unit I will try to get out there and see I know I did have them at one time but that was 40+ years ago.
