Anyone Else Experiencing This?

Have to agree with BJ. CB would be the last radio service I would depend on for safety of life. Too much noise when DX is in. Too low power and far too many undisciplined operators on there. Having listened to many emergencies on the amateur bands a good shack in a box type radio would be my choice without any thought.

The Creek Fire.
as of tonight
248,000 acres at 20% containment.
The SQF Complex fire south of the Creek Fire is also raging.
Yosemite and Kings Canyon Nat parks remain closed due to hazardous smoke conditions.
thousands are still under Evac orders.

The clinics in Oakhurst were closed yesterday and today due to the smoke as well

You are correct Robb.
I have been breathing smoke too long.
Not that smoke, this other smoke.

If the arsonists want to burn Medford and Grants Pass OR; then they will have burned up hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of acres of high grade marijuana. Enough to get the whole state flying really high, and I am not even kidding. I am guessing that I'd seen about five thousand acres being grown in these parts, give or take a few hundred.

In fact, I pulled into a dirt driveway off of the main road of one of the marijuana fields earlier this week. Jumped out of my vehicle and got up close and examined them for about ten seconds (keeping my hands in my pockets). Growing about two and half feet high and is well through into its pistillate stage ready to crystalize. Thousands of them in just one 40 acre field. Smelled like skunk weed too. These are NOT seed varieties, but 100% top grade hybrid marijuana varieties. Got back into my car, and drove on seeing all kinds of acres planted in nothing but female, stinky pot for miles and miles.

I live downwind from the smoke field, and am hoping they don't catch fire.

Well if we didn’t have enough “stuff” to deal with...we just had an earthquake in the Los Angeles area around 11:35pm PST.

4.8 on Richter scale. Not too bad but being a few miles from the epicenter the quake was a sharp jolt. House was hopping up and down!!

Anyways....what’s next???? LOL

2020 is leaving a mark in history that's for sure....

I think no matter where we are, we're all looking to see what's next.

Here in the Texas panhandle yesterday the smoke got so thick during the day it was as if we had local brush fires but we didn't. Another day of that eerie red sun.

That sure wouldn't be good for the cdl driver or anyone holding a job that drug screens!!

The company I work for does random hair tests, I'd be in trouble...
