Mobile Anyone else's wife disapprove of your antenna choice

Bin , Dually ? Be still my heart ! My problem is I was w/ my wife when she test drove one through town on narrow streets ! Yup that ain't happening ! I bought her a new Expedition to tow her horse trailer . As far as Antenna's , she'd never let me put one on her " Precious " Lariat . That's mine now , last count it has 3 ! I even have a switch box , so I can use my Stryker SRA 10A & My Al Capone while I'm chasing Dx .
HAHAHA, for me a wife "hand me downs" would be awesome. But her present 1 may have many KM's left on it but not suitable for me. My current truck at 1 point had 2 x vhf, 1 x hf and a cb mag mount. Only she said was "I'm not taking it thru the car wash". I can foresee VHF fender mount and something for her CB, as long as it doesn't get in the way.

I used to have a 1994 Subaru Forrester. I put the old Hustler ball mount on the drivers side rear quarter panel. Of, course had to run the 102 inch whip with the accompanied spring and accessory green tennis ball. Ex-wife would comment it looked like a remote controlled car. I would get comments back such as the antenna is bigger than the whole car. Used to live on a farm. When I first put up a base antenna at the house, it was a basic 1/4 wave ground plane that sat in someones attic since the 1970s. The ex-wife comes home and ask, "Why is there a big jack in the yard?" What can I say I miss the old yesterdays technology from the 1970s It was a very good around the area 20 miles barefoot antenna. Do not miss the ex.

My wife could care less since it's my truck & she has an SUV of her own.I sometimes have as many as (4) radio antennas on my truck for different radios & she has naver said a word.I also have (9) antennas in the yard & (2) more going up this week & she still does not care.I have a 14 x 14 Man Cave/Radio Shack & she does not care what I do in it or with the antennas all over the back yard & tower.

Love all this guys, Wow this post hits way to close to my life (wife) yes my 69 Les Paul
is worth more than my car, my base antenna is in my wife's sight from the second story.
She bitches at me. Tried to paint it to match who the F@### knows. Can't jam on my guitars to loud, can't play on the radio to long, Wow is this common or what. I'll just play my priceless 64 Melody Maker, It dont break my back after an hour of jamming. Sucks getting old. Just physical, not mental. All in all I do love my wife.....MM

I tried to read all the posts and I might have missed the reason given for why the tennis ball and the little ball on the tip of the SS whip is needed. Short story goes way back.

1. is to help prevent the whip from marking-up the finish on the very nice looking PU truck.
2. is to help prevent the whip from sticking folks in the eye.

Many off road courses dont allow the 102ss simply because bystanders have lost eyes and other injuries. I have a mag mount 102ss set up but I havent used it since I lived in the mountains.
