A lot of people I know noodle around my part of the country but I don't have the nerve to put my hand in an underwater crevice, yeah I'm chicken I won't lie about it.:D

Just like it sounds, in Oklahoma we use bleach jugs, Tide laundry jugs, or pool noodles with PVC pipe capped on both ends and an eyelet screwed in one end and a dab of silicone to keep it from leaking, tie your line to the eyelet. We can run 3 hooks per jug in Oklahoma so 10 jugs you've got 30 baited hooks. You have to have your name, address and phone number on each jug or you run the risk of a fine. You can go to YouTube, look for jug line for catfish or something of that nature.
Lousiana we cut willow trees and use those like your pool noodles. Cost less. Gets dem gar every time.

And we won’t talk about being too near this 14’ monster a LONG ways from the bayous and swamps of the Coast. Damned near desert at Choke Canyon Reservoir. Used to run to a Halliburton rig a stones throw from where this bull met his end.

Hell, gators now show up in Dallas County.

‘Course I’ll admit I’ve had bad thoughts over the years about aggravating dogs next door to me. Maybe I could borrow one of them pool floats and see how many beers little Barkie can swim in circles with a Mustad 31/0 hook attached.

Years ago it was explained to me a puppy is best bait for gator.

My wife and I jug fish a lot, we like Kerr lake in Eastern Oklahoma. A lot of people scoff at Kerr because it's not a party lake, but if you like catfishing it's a darn good lake to run jugs we usually set out about 10 jugs then putt around on the pontoon then go back and check em, she get a kick out of that. We don't keep anything over 20lbs they lay to many eggs besides the smaller catfish are better to eat IMO.
We had people claiming our jugs and fish. Came close to gun play until the game warden showed up. He backed them down and told them he had watched us setting the lines out. We used clear soda bottles and painted the interior with Florescent Paint and we put address labels inside.

A 90-lb alligator snapper weaned me from the idea of it.

Barely three feet of water and you’re HIS dinner.
Yep, I'll stick to my pool noodles, Can you imagine how old that turtle is, hes been around a long long time
