Found out why they never heard of the 27-040 cord.

Used the wrong part number. Not 'twenty-seven' dash oh-four-oh.

Twenty-three dash 040.

DOH! Measure once, cut twice.

That number produces a return at Newark/Element 14. Says they are out of them. But it shows the "IEC320-7" number on that page.

Just one problem. A glance at the cord they do have on hand, the 23-196 is clearly not the same. Looks as if it would not fit the socket meant for the one with four square corners. The IEC connector is just larger.

But that IEC number is on the 23-040 page.

I guess one good foulup deserves another.

i cut that board 3 times n its still too short

That is the same cord as the Realistic TRC 458,457 and others use. You can find them on Ebay just by searching for TRC 458 or 457.

This one does look like a better fit. Although not polarized as the 23-196 is. I think this would still do the trick. I'll put one in the shopping cart and find out.
Nope. I rolled the dice and lost 5$. I was hoping we could find a source in Newark. Looks like the IEC 320 C7 standard is not much of a standard. Nomad is right with the ebay listed "2465P Keyed Rectangular 2-pin "Sony Style". Robb relayed a couple of those to me from Fry's a few years ago. Thanks again Robb!

I only wanted to point out...

"C7 - does exist" but it may be more for a another device - like an entertainment gaming system.

Incoming Region Produces X3 Solar Flare
    May 15, 2024 @ 14:55 UTC
Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned

Please advise me to what is a good replacement mic for my SR-497HPC... Answer: 497 is "wired like Cobra", so many choices available. That radio does not need a power mic, so purchase a stock "coffin style" mic with a decent cord, like the ones that Astatic uses. The Superstar DM-507 is my go-to. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3050474478...adANq91JSiEEnz8EGqPJRBloTgEyaVsBoCtoMQAvD_BwE $12.99 + .99 cent shipping.
