Well from the Anron99 to the Sirio, My transmit went up about a full S-unit, and the receive went really about the same with lower noise. So the switch was well worth it!
I wouldn't scratch it, as BJ said you would need 800 watts to see anything noticeable and living in an apartment might not be neighborlyI've got the amp itch!
Nice station. I have a radio buddy that is on the 16th floor of his apartment. I call him the channel master. It works surprisingly good , glad I took the top floor and not the bottom! View attachment 29643
Just a little update. Things are the same as far as the setup. Antenna swr 1.1-1.2 across the band, over the summer talked a lot of skip, locals still don't think i'm in an apartment. I kinda want to step it up a notch or so, (AMP)!.....Have 20amps of service in my living room and have ran just the 200watts from the radio, any ideas? Tube or transistor, crazy but do it, or just plain stupid and leave it like it is? I've got a few linears and wanting to know if it would be overkill being in the apartment still... I've got the amp itch!
Well VSWR looks good, but would be interested in knowing the complex impedance,
EX: Frequency vs. R = ?? and X = 0
All the Best
