AR-3500 HELP!!!

Surprisingly enough, there is plenty of docs and discussions on the AR3500 on the internet. For a radio that is 30 yrs old, it is really loved.

So just out of curiosity, is there any radio out there made within the last 10 years that stands close to the AR3500?

still no fix for the to much receive gain except turning down the rf gain.
I have 2 of these radios with the same problems, did full alignment on them.
