ARE YOU A SELLER ON EBAY?

I just noticed that if you are a seller on EBAY they changed some settings in the users accounts.

Check your settings, here is why.

When a buyer pays for an item with Paypal the buyer has the option to change the total and give themselves a discount.

You have to go to

MY EBAY

click the

ACCOUNT tab

Click

SITE PREFERENCES

You will see the following

Payment from buyers

Click on the

SHOW at the end to show the settings for that section.

You will see by default the setting for Allow buyers to edit payment totals is YES!!!!!!!!!

YUP they can give themselves a discount! :thumbdown:

wtf???hows that gonna fly?i,m not giving discounts...i sell at rock bottom prices so as it is.with all the competition on ebay your already forced to go as low as you can go to get the sale .
i,m gonna look into this .

maybe ebay is offering the discounted funds and you would never see it on your end??
i been a ebay seller for at least 8 years and i never noticed this .i am selling right now and have not been asked about any discounts...hhhmmmm
definitly gotta look into this .

ok,this was no big deal .....mine is actually set to NO.so i left it that way.
you can change those preferences if you like .you can make that say NO ,just go in there and hit the edit button .
i never been in there befor ,interesting whats in there .i been selling on ebay for years but havent been to everything on the site .i just run auctions and buy it nows and never really needed to snoop around .
this did spark my interest though.
so this is changeable hamer ..just click on edit.

Yes it is editable

I had sold 4 items to one buyer and because of weight the shipping was 27 dollars,

They discounted it themselves to 5 dollars!!!

That is how I found out about it, the hard way

thats just wrong ,how can they do that?i wouldnt have shipped thier item then.
the nerve of some people huh?they want it cheap ,then they want it shipped near free.i wonder how yours got set to yes?

I just had an auction on a fishing reel end yesterday, but the buyer hit up my PayPal account and covered the whole thing.
I will look into that, but I always check PayPal first before shipping, and if someone didn't cover both the high bid and shipping, they'd be getting a rude e-mail from me in a hurry......

Same here, I closed my sellers acount and only buy there now.

They can shit and fall back in it for all I care.
