Any one ever make any contacts in Asia? I have hit Europe the Pacific Australia New Zealand and all over South America but never heard any stations out of Asia. Any one have any luck there?

"Asia" is a huge land mass. I have made numerous Japanese, Philippine, and India on ten meters. Nothing so far this year because the band is dead.
I had Russian and the various satellite nations all over the place.
H'mmmmmm, I guess I need to get my Ground plane back on line.

Worked Japan from the mobile a couple years ago on 11. It was above 40 on ssb. Worked the Philippines from the house as well. This was 2-3 yrs back...11 meters was definitely in better shape then.

DXman's the master for sure. Definitely depends on your location for one. From my location just north of Montana I was able to make a few contacts with my modest setup. See link for my Cycle 24 DX map; http://tinyurl.com/bsl6rxa

This cycle is long dead for international DX on 11m in my location, you'll have to wait another 5 years for the next.

I worked the USSR or what was this area last year when the DX wasn't too bad. This was on 11m. 27.555 USB then went to another freq. Wasn't there long, but long enough to verify each other and ask a couple things. It's all about conditions. Like others have said, wanna increase your odds get your ticket. At least General. Or just have to be at the right place at the right time!! Conditions aren't getting any better and won't be for a while. Yes we will have some sporadic stuff, but not like it has been in the past few years. I got back into radio at the end of it around 2013. About the only bright side is having some nice locals that get along. When you have a decent sized group it's nice. And it's really nice when they come on at different times so as you can speak with all of them pretty much. Anyhow. Just my experiences and opinions about things. Have fun DX'ing!!

Japan comes in 20-30 over on channel 4 at times. Not uncommon on the west coast at night. Made a few contacts over the years. Philippians and a boat off Indonesia once.

Well in my part of the country have never heard any thing out of Asia on 11 meters I know the ham bands are much better for this. I did talk to a guy on an oil rig in the north sea several yrs ago on am that was pretty cool and once to western Australia long path which was also neat. Could not hear him turned to the west at all.

Still have stacks of QSL cards from down under when I lived in NJ. AM/FM/SSB mostly 40 channel stuff.
I never heard asia either till I moved to Cali. And DX was so much better in the 90's.

I have made Japan once on 11, and been a pile up for the JA"s on 10 meters one night, worked them for over 4 hours, dunno how the DX pedition ops can pull 12 hour shifts working pile ups man my voice was rough after just 4 hours.

Worked Kamcha peninsular of Russia above N Korea couple cycles back on 27.555.

Ham bands got into India, Malaysia, still looking for the rest of the countires and have ben chasing China but hard to do from the East coast here in FL.
