My Ranger mic used to cause the radio to chir-beep when I unkeeyed with the Roger Beep on. So I cleaned the switch, no more chir-beep.

Man, back in the day people would pay for that unique roger beep

It's partly the switch, and partly the cheap plastic case that makes that noise...I've had two of them, and both were like that...would not have another one...The old Turner 60's and 70's had better cases and don't have that problem if you can find one...The RF Limited Extreme 2018's also much better quality Mic's than the Astatic RD P.O.S....

What kind of grease and where? Love the Nova by the way!

I don't know what kind of grease, I had the radio shop I bought it from fix it. It has been working good ever since. That is some poor quality control, however it is a good sounding mike.

As far as the nova, It isin the need of some TLC, hopefully I'll get it back on the road by the end of summer. Just had more important things to spend my money on.
