none of them are capable of building vehicles without recalls after all these years . i certainly dont want them building atomic vehicles when they haven't perfected over 100 yr old technology yet .

im sure terrorist and other crazy folks would love to have access to them ASAP though .

Well that will have been already decided in the not so distant future:

As you can see, DMC will be revived very soon and re-release it's early 1980s design, but will add the oh-so-popular Mr. Fusion as standard equipment. Their future director of propulsion research, Dr. Emmett Lathrop "Doc" Brown, Ph.D., will soon have shown that this device brings the best blend of efficiency and power generation.

What a work of art she will be:

(time travel package optional, but HIGHLY recommended)

One up for a great post. It's not theoretical to take a fusion powered vehicle and turn it into a nuclear device. Booty back to Google.com for research; -)

I've got a cousin that is working on one that will run on water...He got a Government Grant for 6 Mil. back in May to start the project, and also has some GM engineers working with him on the project car...not sure how far along they are...

I'm sure they're doing all they can to help your cousin:LOL:

Ford didn't build the nucleon it never got off the drawing board. Afaik it would only work via the seebeck effect which has a tiny power output. The only practical power output is with steam so a stanley steamer might make a donor vehicle.

The 1955 Lincoln Futura was a much better looking car, and they even built one.
It Appeared in the movie " Started with a Kiss"
It almost rusted away in a Hollywood back-lot,even though the total production costs of this concept car was over $250,000, which was a staggering cost at 1954 prices. But within a few years it became essentially useless to Ford Motor Company, and eventually auto customizer George Barris offered to buy the car, which was sold to Barris for the price of just one dollar.
It went on to become famous, for another reason in 1966, that many of you will recognize.

Among the most unique features is an audio approach microphone on the flat rear deck. It picks up and amplifies the sound or horn signal from any car approaching from the rear.

On Edit:
( no it is not atomic powered, 330 Hp on pump gas)

the idea of a water powered car is a fun one to dream about, but the realities are anything but fun.

do we really want to turn water into a commodity similar to gasoline?

each day the world uses about 80,000,000 barrels of petroleum, and that estimate is on the conservative side.

each barrel of "oil" produces about 45 gallons of petroleum.

thats 3,600,000,000 (three billion, six hundred million) gallons of petroleum products used every day here on earth.

now think about using water instead.

how long do you think our beloved bodies of water would last at that rate?

you may say, "yes, but the exhaust from the engines will be water vapor and will replenish the supply."

ok, just think about the environmental impact of that much rain fall.

sorry to paint such a depressing picture, but we need a better energy source than water.

this thread is about fusion and nuclear energy NOT water, btw that car is bad ass! i want it
