Do you remember the little mirror boards he was putting across the emitters of the pills to keep the input and output transformers from "talking.".

Just on this one point....
Actually, I would rather see a copper strip stood vertical in between the input and output transformers than solder a copper braid across the transistors.
You will see this on some of the early Grey amps.
I have seen a Boo amp that had shield covers over the input/output transformers.
I have a picture of it somewhere on the hard drive.

I agree with that. I could never get the braid to not look sloppy. I had a Cobra XL350 with the braid and it was the nicest looking one I've saw.

I don't believe it's necessary with the copper boards everyone uses. Years ago CCM said something about it being done on printed boards to make sure the emitters were at the same potential.

Boo learned like we all did. I've done plenty of things that didn't make sense.

From what I've seen on eBay, the unbuilt Heathkit, still in the box is the one that fetches the most dollars. People want them so they can build them themselves.
People love to collect the un built kits, should have left un built

I don't like BBI's personality, but the guy has to be a genius to act the part he has chosen for himself. Additionally, he likes our member brother Shockwave (Donald)...and that's good enough for me.

I've disagreed with Donald on issues in the past, but I could tell he was some sort of genius too.

I think folks can disagree and have still have meaningful relationships.

This is the nature for the world's best forum of its kind,
World Wide DX.
He works and raising a family.
God Bless him

Hi all,

I just saw him in one of the videos tunning a truck alternator up to 15,3Volts!! How stupid can it be?

There are so many things wrong in the "work" he shows in the videos that i got dumber just for watching, i just clicked unsubscribe, what a joke.

This guy is like the mechanic that bends the nedle of speedometer of clients cars and charges extra for the extra speed.

Shame on him and all the peopple who suport this kind of scammers.

Cya all out there in the eter.

Braid. Cobra 350 XL

I dont know. A lot of hate for the guy and I've watched maybe 35 or so of his videos and I dont see the arrogance everyone claims.
Being certain of your ability is not the same thing as arrogance. Honestly he seems to put out quality work and take pride in doing the best job he can. It could be he disabled comments because he doesnt have time for people trying to tear him down hoping for 20 seconds of internet fame. My own opinion.

I agree. The man does nice work and he has a passion for it, I don’t really see the arrogance either. I’d love to have a box made this man but I can’t afford it right now. Don’t get me started on a Prime built box...

I like BBIs latest "Interview" vids he recorded on his trip out west visiting some Super Stations. Very Informative!

Any and all info found online or given should always be fact checked before put into use.

One should always understand how something works not just do or copy.

Google is an easy place to accomplish this. Lots of published content from reputable sources

Fact checking will always reveal the truth of ones true knowledge and possibly intent.

I myself do not watch. After what was said about my dear friend Peter dahl, one of my original mentors. A great man , a legend in his field . A man that worked almost until the day he passed.

A man that was always willing to take the time to talk , help explain and answer any questions you may have. He unfortunately passed away from Parkinson’s disease.

I was absolutely disgusted with the content geared towards slandering his work.

To compare peter dahls work against a company that winds transformers with a smaller gauge wire to stuff more turns on a core. In turn ending up with high secondary impedance and massive voltage sag under load was a complete utter joke.

I made videos to demonstrate the difference between the two

With a busy repair load here along with the other projects , sure wish I had the time for a road trip

I would interview some of my other mentors , one of which a retired senior ex Rockwell Collins Rf engineer.

I’m still waiting for shockwave to give me the green light, he was my first mentor, and the one that got me addicted to tube amps. I will be forever in his debt

The reason he doesn't junk his videos up with comments is because it would look like this.

Being in business myself but the audio world, I know what it's like to have complete idiots for customers.

But idiots have money, so those of us who 'Can' do..

Separating a man from his dollars while leaving a smile on his face. Pretty sure BBI accomplishes that.
