I used to be employed by Alcoa, you know the worlds largest aluminum manufacture, so please explain why you would not heat aluminum?
Yes we know of Alcoa and we also know that if you heat metal in one area only you change the molecular formation of the molecules in that particular area and the metal either side of the area affected will have a different molecular structure making the area heated proned to structure failure do to said heating.
The entire piece of metal would have to be heated and re tempered to bring it back to it's original molecular makeup of overall strength.
