As for power out of that '440, it just depends on the mode of use. Never gonna get 100 watts of AM or FM. At least, not for long .
Don't misunderstand, I think the TS-440 is a nice radio, but it certainly does have some practical limits.

30MHz minus 1.7MHz, I beleve is the range of coverage, equals 28.3Mhz divide by 10Khz channels =2830 :ROFL ........the ultimate freeband radio, up to 70 groups of 40 channels. at the bottom of the dial you might even find billy grahm and pat robinson
