I had a D-104 and got good reports, it died after bouncing off the floor,doors,dash,etc several hundred times.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> I tried the astatic 575 and WOW what a diference! The 575 blows the 104 away.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

I have used the D104 M6C for right at 15 years and wouldn't use anything else. Keep in mind I do not drive a big rig.

Does it pick up alot of background noise? I keep the Mic in the truck bungeed so it doesnt fall but kinda swings. Durability is always a plus thou.

Thanks!

Yes, it does have the tendency to pick up background noise. It is not good to use in a big rig at all. If you have a lot of background noise, the 575 or the RD104 would be a good choice.

I'm using the 575 in my tow truck and once you get it adjusted right you will be "loud and proud" <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> I had to play around with it some to get it right. If you know someone you can trust to give you reports that helps alot. I tried using my hand held for a talk back but couldn't really tell if it was picking up back ground noise since I wasnt sure if it was the radio or the noise in the truck it self. People tell me they can't hear that noisey ol'Caterpiller at all.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">
