Bigger Alternator or Two Batteries

I have a 97 Toyota T100 pickup, the stock alternator is only 70amps. I have not been able to find a High Amp Denso alternator for this truck for under $300. Could I use a Delco alternator? I can get one of those for a lot cheaper. Are is the only choice to add another battery? I have talked with alternator shops all over the U.S and only found a few that had replacement High Amp Denso alternators. I have also talked with a local rebuild shop, they said the best they could do is 90amp with mine. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

I will say this. It is impossible to get 200 amps HOT out of that case style without adding external diodes and an external regulator. Even then it will only produce 200 amps for a VEY short period of time before the diodes and everything else heat up. You put a 200 amp load on that alternator and be prepared to smell the enamel heating up in a matter of seconds. This is the truth. If this is who I think it is I wish I would have known that is what you were doing. THose alternators come with 35 amp diodes and there is not enough of them to produce a solid 200 amps. Even if the case is machined to accept the 50 amp press fit diodes it still is only good for about 165 amps.
