1 driving 2 is not a keydown amp, maybe only a driver. Those keydown units have as much 128 transistor or even more.

This BBI makes some good points but a lot of it is drowned out by the stuff he has no clue about, or he is trying to use to take a jab at some other amp assembler.
I'm sorry but NONE OF THEM assemble these things halfway decent.
Parts float in the air supported by their leads.
Capacitors are formed simply with the piss poor layout and assembly.
At the end (because I just skipped to it) he says that people need to start to treat each other better because the hobby is shrinking.
He needs to follow that same advice.

what i don't get is how anyone buys a 1X2 amp in the first place!
it is a guaranteed splatterbox. you would have to swamp the input to those two pills so much that it would negate the purpose of the 1 pill driver even being there!
a 1X4 amp is pushing it, and that one pill can easily drive the 4 pills into saturation.

There is a system of classes to compete in, these classes are based on the number of transistors in the final amp stage. If your competing in the two pill class they ain't gonna let you run a 128 transistor amp. This is why they try to squeeze every last watt out of a transistor instead of just adding more, the number of transistors is the limiting factor in the classes.
But you're right a 1x2 would probably be used as a driver.
The problem is there are to many people out there who don't understand what these comp boxes are for and use them where they aren't appropriate.
