BOOTY 4

never had a sigma 4 or a vector . i just copied the basic design (with a LOT of help from some folks on this forum) . i have played with it's lengths though . so far i've gotten best results with the basket elements 108 inches . i added length to the loop and made it 108 inches rather than 95ish , it's about 34 1/2 inches in diameter . i also run the vertical a bit tall at 32 ft . it did better with a 30-31 ft vertical than with it at 27 ft . i couldn't tell any noticeable difference 30 - 31 and 32 ft , so i've left it at 32 .

YMMV

THAT ANTENNA MUST BE A MONSTER AND IT KICKS ASS TO BOOT!!!!!LOL. I LUV THE WAY U HOOKED UP YOUR MAST SUPPORT.IM IN A SOMEWHAT BAD SITUATION SETTING UP MY MAST SUPPORT WITH MY BACK YARD . I GUESS I WOULD HAVE TO START ANOTHER THREAD FOR THAT. I ALREADY HAVE ONE GOING ABOUT SETTING A GROUND ROD IN THE BASEMENT.

I don't know what happened to my screen view, it just opened up wide like BM posted one of his famous very large images, but see, I told yall' that
BM doesn't talk too much about his baby. I never heard his tell us any of the above.

I rectum he has talked, one on one, with Bob85, and until now has had to promiss not to reveal any of Bob's secrets about the length of his Vector Hybrid, or ole' Bob would put a old English spell on the Booty Monster.

Thanks BM.

lmao. thats the first time he mentioned its 32ft afaik, i saw a drop in signals with mine that long using 90" radials and 30"hoop,

today i helped a buddy here start building a vector using 827 + vector parts with a 1-29/32" x 1/8" wall scaffold pole for the bottom section, stock 90" radials stock 30" hoop, no idea how changing the diameter ratios will effect the outcome.

LOL @ OGP ;)

it's no magic . i make no grandiose claims like some like to do . i'm happy with it .
no software plots , no 4 - 15 s-unit claims . no nobody but someone with this antenna can talk skip or hear it ...... . i don't have another antenna to compare it to . the hope is that electrically it works as well as the commercial versions i tried to copy but make stronger . without one to compare it to i can't say . i can say that i'm happy with it . for somebody somewhere else it might not be their cup of tea and i'm fine with that :)

bob85 hasn't revealed any secret lengths to me . LOL

Damn BM, it disappoints me that you and Bob didn't colabrate and let your secret get out. I'm shot down again. ^can not stand it^

I'm still looking for a CB antenna that when compared will show me a full S unit or better signal at any range.

BTW, just to be clear, I didn't mean to imply that BM's antenna was a real baby. Vanilla Sky already has enough problems without being confused about my bad use of words, and before he took is picture down...he wasn't looking too good either.

what secret do you think we have ?
a modest beam will get you the gain you're looking for .

homer is one of the grand fathers of my Booty 4 .
it doesn't cry or poop itself , but it likes snacking on watts .

Again, just to be clear, I really wasn't considering a beam antenna BM.

my bad .
have you ever tried a beam at your location ? since you can't find a omni that significantly performs better than other omni's at your location , a beam would seem to be your best option to increase your contact range

Well you both have a good point, but I can't even work on what I have up right now.

Yep Booty for over 10 years I ran a home brew 4 element yagi, and I took it down in 2008, right before Hurricane Ike hit near here in Galveston, I think.
