Building antennas

Hi Michael, Just want to spread some encouragement and show you what my first antenna looked like. Found how to make it on YouTube (2m Backpacking Yagi) So far I've hit a repeater 40 miles away sitting in my house with my 5 watt handheld with a signal strength S6. Not to shabby with an antenna made from music wire and an arrow shaft. Here's a good website with a lot of info. HAM RADIO - AMATEUR RADIO - HAM RADIO INFORMATION, LICENSE INFO!, PLANS - PROJECTS
Good Luck
Cesar

Doesn't seem I'm doing the inserting photos right. Working on it!

Very enlightning thread. That's my word for the day by the way "enlighten".

I love dipoles. They are almost as free as air and work almost as well as a yagi in the right conditions and you can put em up just about anywhere.

Long live the dipole!!
