Bulldog Watt meter

Ehhh, its hard to convey emotion or lack there of in text, that meter gets beat on by folks who have no knowledge of it what so ever, but I wasn't pissed, just stating my opinion I guess.

Internets = serious business

But there was no context of any emotion of the people that simply stated that the meter was not worth the asking price which is what the OP asked. As for accuracy, it is nothing special and at least the Bird meters can be calibrated to industrial standards and actually mean something. I have yet to see a communications company be it broadcast or otherwise use a Bull Dog meter over a Bird. Must be a reason.

Did I somehow give the impression that I care at all about anything you say? If so, my bad.

The Bird and its reputation is all too well known. No one said the Bulldog is a bad meter. It is just unknown compared to the Bird. If you like the Bulldog - no one is attacking that. No one even attacked the Bulldog; they just said it was over priced in the eBay ad - and you also agreed.

There is no reason to take it personal - unless you have more invested in the Bulldog than meets the eye here. So - you know the guy who built them too. Or is it more than that? A family member maybe? In business with him? Trying to protect that interest? A dose of honesty at this point would go a long way - IMO. Credibility is slipping away here.

The last post before your last post is a guy who works in the broadcast industry presently and for many years too. If he said that no one uses a Bulldog in the industry; I would be inclined to believe him. He can be considered an expert in that field.

Replaced it with a Palstar, me like the Palstar lots better
The Palstar is very nice, also has a remote coupler , and a active peak reading circuit.
Works good in the mobile, small compact, and I like to be able to read forward and reflect at the same time.

No you didn't!

I traded one of them POS'S for my bird 43, 7 years ago, it's for sale with a 1kw and 25 watt element for $250 conus.

It ain't the prettiest but it's 100% functional.

Oh and it has a pep kit installed too(y)

You guys are full of shit, that guy selling that meter is full of shit and I sent him a message saying so. Those meters are $300 new with the remote sensor, $200 without, I Use one everyday in the mobile and never had ANY issues with it on the 16 pill. I know others that use it and they have ALL had the same results. ANY comparison done with it on avg scale vs. a bird always shows it to be nearly dead on. What is on ebay is the first gen units which no longer are made. Carl makes a nice meter for the money and is a helluva guy too. Now will it hold 10k? I'll probably never know and neither will the vast majority of the rest of us, the guys that do run that kind of power already know what they have to have, and generally pl259's dont cut it anyway.

I doubt any of you that are bad mouthing it have never even seen one.

Apparently you don't mind being lied to?

i asked about this bulldog meter cause i saw one for sale almost mint at a swap meet and the person wanted $50.00 for it and i said no. ( i fucked up ) should of bought it.

im not buying that meter off eBay because i can get a Bird for half the price that guy on eBay is asking for his high glory bulldog watt meter.
aren't Birds military spec / made anyways? i see it as this, if the United States Military uses something it must be good right? or we would be scum like the Haji's in the asshole of the earth ( the middle east ). no offense to those from the West Nile..... :)
imo 73s
