Buying radios from Amazon

Hi guys. Just bought 5555n2 from amazon. Arrives sunday. Shipping it to scotts radios being here in canada isnt really an option so wondering what settings from stock are good to use if not tuned with an oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer. Wondering how it will be out of the box stock. feedback is appreciated. Thx

Run it stock - don't attempt to change anything in the service/alignment menus without the required test equipment. For now, just set the Mic Gain to your preference and I'm sure will be very happy with this radio, straight out of the box. The settings work the same whether it is expanded, or not. Check out the RXNR settings too (noise reduction). Level 1 or 2 is usually great.

I trimmed the whip to be resonate on 10m.

Those Antennas like of a Wilson 1000 Stryker SRA-10 are fairly widebanded
