What does eBay do when the "seller" dies - and can't close the deal?

I mean - look at Facebook, once a person posts it's profile, it's pretty much set in stone. (You Fool! Sort of thing) They can't just "delete" the profile because the Owner isn't coming back to delete it themselves from the Grave...

Twitter? Instagram? Tik-Tok? Some sites have policies to remove the feed if needed or necessary but usually they remain as "Famous Last Words"...

To Whom It May Concern:
IF I die, can you please delete my last message of Hate that I posted in Error to My Ex-Wife?
I'm preparing to shoot myself now, so if I don't return from the Hospital after the
(BANG) *thud*...

So if the seller "kicks the bucket" - there's no one left to answer to bidding bell.

So what is one to do?

Send an Email to the Seller to "nudge them"?

- by that time the seller may see an interest and BOOST the price up versus acknowledging that they're still considering all bids.

Some of those items ive been watching for YEARS...

Might be a LONG time...

@Tokin - here's an interesting one...

Ok, here's my point, it's no longer "New" - it's past 10 years - his kids' grown up and retired himself - and doing spots on FOX for Racing...

Maybe New Old Stock - but certainly not new - at least anymore.

The darn radio is going to need a recap - or worse - a facelift and rust removal rework and paint job included.
For $375? It's not worth it to me, Not to sound insulting but...The board itself can be found in other radios from that vintage that work and since they've been used, at least - still work, versus questionable operation and a required power-up sequence this radio may need.

It's more of a Museum piece, more than a collectors item, the Generation that this would have mattered to, is now approaching a Geriatric state and may or may not remember (correctly :) ) the events that made this person famous, nor the radio itself work well enough for others to understand the operator well enough to recognize "Hey that's' Dale Earnhardt's radio he's running." - there's nothing special about it except the package and maybe the faceplate. So to own it is one thing, but the other person on the receiving side isn't going to hear Earnhardt's voice (that would be a little weird if not insulting to the Family)

It's sad to see someone taking advantage of a tragic event and the history of a person to generate a likeness/Trademark and then sell it at a steep price to profit from it at the family's own expense.

This is the proof to the point, they whom operate in this realm of eBay sellers, don't seem to feel guilty about this nor do they even feel bad about the events that this person last moments were about, so those whom sell this stuff at such a steep price are simply making the matters of moral value - worse, than better - if only for the memory, if purchased, won't bring the person back. Nor will it make the operator sound like Dale (as the example) - just another radio that may need service and more work done to it before it's even put it a vehicle or even used for it's purposes intended, as a CB radio - not preserved as an Artifact.
