I read this post yesterday , so being inquisitive Ch9 got a 650w check . No response , I use to be active w/ React many years ago here in Ri . I'm trying ! I think many off us 11m guys should go back to our roots , let's see if in your area you can more Op's to pop in now & again to monitor " 9 " ! We might be able to help as distant as that seems . Who Knows ? Stay Healthy & Safe ! 73 & God Bless , Leo Then again Cell Phones have taken over most of peoples world !

I can swear that's who uses 9 down here. My spanglish is no savi, but since the Chinese Virus came to town and illegal boarder crossing has lessened, chl 9 has been quite. At times it sounds as bad as the bowl, I can pick out geographic locations out of conversation. Pull up a map and they are towns along the boarder. When I had to bug out for Hurricane Harvey I ended up in Brackettville. CBP all over that area, one told me the smugglers were using CB when he asked about the 102. Could hear the chatter at night, the the Blackhawks came out to hunt. Now that 's entertainment. ;)

I've often wondered if CH 9 has gone back to a normal use channel. I don't even see signs along the road saying "State Patrol Monitor CB CH9" any more.

Do they even have them in their cars??
In my city growing up we could talk with a local cop any time on channel 21 - most weekend we'd yap with him and sometimes stop to visit wherever he was posted up. Of course, he knew we street raced down in the valley but never bugged us as long as we were out in the rural areas.

Seriously though, anyone still live in am area where the state police or sheriff have CB in the patrol vehicle. The neighboring county to me used to have signs posted that the sheriffs department monitors CB Channel 9. I have posted the joke a few times that last time I talked on Channel 9 I accidentally made a date with a working girl in TJ. Some guy was talking about his sister in Spanish. Whenever the weather is bad or big snow around here you will hear a base station crack on channel 3 or 8. Parts on the counties we have no cell signal unless you are standing on a cow on you right leg with your left arm fully extended.
