My Cobra 2000 GTL sometimes has no sound with the preamp on there is no sound I wiggle the rg 11 coax & sound is back. This setup is in my mobile running with cophase setup the tech at the cb shop set everything this has been happening for a few months not lately it has goten worse. What could be wrong with the coax or connector & how would I go about fixing this?

Dj your coax probably went south... check the coax with a multi meter to see if did. if not could be coax connection on the back of your 2000 GTL that may be getting loose as it was not ment to be in a mobile.

But anywho check all conections, what part of the coax is causing your loss of recieve? close to the radio, the T connection for the co phase harness or near on of the antenna's?

check the pl connection to see if that is the culprit, if it is one of the solderless ones that may be the problem, but like i said check it with a multimeter may be bad coax or just a bad connecter
Quick test is to run a basic replacement coax straight from the radio to the antenna and see if your receive stays put.

googling rg 11 coax shows it as being 75 ohm coax . i didnt know ifhe was talking about the connector comming of the co-phasing harness for the antennas of if he had somehow used it on his whole system . . he used to run a small amp also and he wanst clear where he was jiggling the coax to make the signal come back in .
